A quality test after three washes
Short answer: New clothes always look good. The real test is how they look after three washes, and there are four things to look for.
Does it shrink
Measure the garment flat across the chest before the first wash and again after the third. Two to three centimetres is normal. More than that means the fabric was not pre shrunk.
Does it bobble
Look at the inside of the sleeves and at the sides. Small nubs after three washes is early. It points to short fibre or loosely spun yarn. See bamboo t-shirts for men.
Do colour and shape hold
See whether the colour has gone dull and whether the neckline still springs back. Those two things say most about how the garment will look in a year. See bamboo clothing for women and bamboo underwear for men.
