Find the right height

The regular sock with a leg is the classic style for boots, shoes and trousers. Low cut and ankle socks have a shorter leg and go with trainers and low shoes. Footies and trainer socks sit lowest and are almost invisible in the shoe, which makes them an obvious pick in summer. Tennis socks are slightly thicker and work for both training and casual wear. Differences between the brands

Copenhagen Bamboo makes up the largest part of the range with 5 packs and 7 packs in many colours, and its 7 pack comes in a gift box made from recycled cardboard. Decoy has socks with a rolled edge at the top of the leg, so you avoid a tight cuff, and they come in packs of up to 10 ankle socks and trainer socks. Bamboo Basics has 3 packs and 10 packs with crew socks, ankle socks and footies. JBS of Denmark sells single pairs if you just want to try a style, while JBS has a striped 7 pack. Urban Quest has 5 packs in black and white.

Colours from classic black to green and mauve

Black is the most popular colour for women's socks, and almost every brand has it. White socks go well with trainers and training. If you want a bit more colour, there are green socks, blue, grey, brown, striped and mixed packs with for example mauve, navy and army green. Mixed packs are an easy way to get variety in the drawer without buying lots of single pairs.

Sizes

Sizes follow the brand. Copenhagen Bamboo comes in 30/33, 34/39, 40/44 and 45/49. Bamboo Basics has 35/40, 41/46 and 47/50. Decoy and JBS of Denmark have 37/41, Urban Quest has 36/40 and 40/46, and JBS has 37 to 40, 41 to 44 and 45 to 48. These are EU shoe sizes. If your shoe size is on the border between two sizes, it can help to choose the larger one, so the sock does not squeeze your toes.
