The filter in the machine and why it has to be emptied
Short answer: The filter at the bottom of the machine collects coins, hair and lint. If it is never emptied, the machine pumps less well and the laundry is not rinsed properly.
Where it sits
Behind a small hatch at the bottom of the front of the machine. There is often a hose beside it for draining the residual water. Put a cloth and a shallow bowl underneath.
How to do it
Switch the machine off, drain the residual water through the hose, unscrew the filter and rinse it under the tap. Screw it back in tightly. See bamboo socks for men.
What you find in there
Coins, hair grips, lint and the socks that disappeared. It is also where a lost bra wire ends up. See bamboo bras without underwire and bamboo towels.
