By far the most products are classic close fitting boxers. Many have inside leg seams, a wide elastic waistband and flat seams, so they sit smoothly under trousers. If you want shorter legs, briefs from for example Lindbergh, JBS and Urban Quest are a good option, especially under short shorts. If you prefer a looser fit, Bamboo Basics and JBS of Denmark have boxer shorts in a bamboo and cotton blend. JBS also has boxers with a fly, and JBS of Denmark has briefs with a fly.

Long legs and long johns for cold days

If you walk a lot, cycle or simply want to avoid chafing, there is bamboo underwear with long legs from Resteröds, Urban Quest, Copenhagen Bamboo, JBS and Boody. Multipacks and colours

Most items are sold in multipacks of 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7. Black is found at every brand, but there is also navy, grey, white, army, green, blue, petrol, burgundy, brown and patterned or striped versions. Sizes and fit

Sizes run from S to XXL in most ranges, and several products come in XS or XXXL. Bamboo underwear is stretchy and fits close, so choose your normal size if you like a firm fit, and one size up if you prefer a little more room. Please note that the striped boxer shorts from JBS of Denmark shrink about 10% in length in the first wash.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between boxers and briefs? Boxers have legs that go some way down the thigh, while briefs are a shorter style without legs. Both are available in bamboo in this collection.

Is all the underwear made from pure bamboo? No. Most products are bamboo viscose with a little stretch, while the boxer shorts from Bamboo Basics and JBS of Denmark are a bamboo and cotton blend, and the Lindbergh briefs are a cotton blend with bamboo viscose.

Can I use bamboo underwear as ski underwear? Bamboo long johns and undershirts can be worn as a base layer under skiwear or workwear, because the fabric is breathable and wicks moisture away from the skin.
