WASHING GUIDE

How to best care for your bamboo clothing

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40 degrees.
Wash inside out – especially if there is a print.
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer.
Use detergent without harsh enzymes – e.g. wool/silk soap and preferably fragrance-free.
Underwear can be washed at 60 degrees, but this may shorten its lifespan.

Green nightshirt in seersucker

Green long-sleeved nightshirt for women in seersucker from JBS of Denmark, in the softest bamboo and organic cotton blend. Lovely to sleep in, and the shirt shrinks 5% in the first wash.

Seersucker, the fabric with the crinkled surface, is woven so that some threads are pulled tighter than others. That makes the surface ripple, and it means the fabric only touches the skin in places. That is why it feels cooler than a smooth fabric, which is exactly what you want in a nightshirt.

What you need to know about the first wash

In the first wash the fabric pulls together and comes out looking more crinkled. That is intended, that is how seersucker is meant to look. The nightshirt shrinks about 5 % in length in the first wash at 30 degrees, so allow for that when you choose a size.

75 per cent bamboo viscose
