Bamboo period underwear

Bamboo period underwear is a pair of knickers with a built in absorbent layer that soaks up blood, so you can wear it instead of, or together with, pads and tampons. Here you will find 13 pairs of bamboo period pants from Moodies. They come in several styles and in five absorbency levels, from light to super, so you can choose according to how heavy your period is on a given day. You can see the price on each product page.

Choose the absorbency for your days

The most important choice is how much the pants need to absorb. Moodies states this in relation to tampons, which makes it easy to compare. Light is equal to about one tampon and suits light days or extra peace of mind. Moderate is equal to about two tampons. Moderate to heavy is equal to about two to three tampons. Heavy is equal to about four tampons and is designed for heavy days and the night. Super is equal to about five to six tampons and is the most absorbent in the range. If you have several pairs with different absorbency, you can switch as needed through your period.

Styles and fit

The bamboo period panties come in four cuts. The thong is the smallest style and has light absorbency. The hipster sits low on the hip and comes in moderate and heavy. The cheeky brief has moderate to heavy absorbency and sits smoothly under sportswear. The boyshort gives the most coverage and comes with a wide absorbent zone, with super absorbency and as a night style where the absorbent layer reaches right up to the waistband at the back.

Colours and sizes

All styles come in black. Selected styles also come in grey or Ruby Pink. The sizes run from S to XXL, and the boyshort with moderate to heavy absorbency comes all the way up to XXXL. Choose your usual knicker size.

Bamboo or cotton

Many people look for period underwear in cotton, but the pants here are made from bamboo. The products are described as soft and breathable, which you notice most when a pair has to be worn for a whole day or night. To see regular knickers in the same fabric, take a look at bamboo briefs or the full range of bamboo underwear for women.

Washing and durability

Period pants are washed and worn again. According to Moodies, each pair can be washed and reused for at least 3 years, so you save on pads and tampons over time. Follow the care instructions for each pair. In the blog post Moodies and washing period underwear we explain how to wash them, and in period underwear and how it works you can read more about how they are made. You can also read about the brand on the page for Moodies.
