Hand washing step by step
Short answer: Fill the basin with lukewarm water, add a teaspoon of delicate detergent, let the garment sit for ten minutes, rinse and press the water out without wringing.
How to do it
Use water at around 30 degrees, that is hand warm. Stir the detergent into the water before the garment goes in. Squeeze the garment gently a few times and let it sit for ten minutes.
The rinse decides the result
Rinse with clean water until no more suds appear. Detergent residue makes the fabric stiff and can itch. Better to rinse once too often. See bamboo bras without underwire.
How to get the water out
Press the garment between your hands, then lay it on a towel, roll the towel up and press. Never wring wet viscose. See bamboo underwear for women and bamboo tights.
Frequently asked questions
How long should it soak
Ten to fifteen minutes. Longer makes no difference to ordinary soiling.
Can you use shampoo
Yes, at a pinch. Use a little, it foams a lot.
Why must you not wring
Because wet viscose fibres break. Wringing creates permanent creases.
