How to choose the size of a bra top

Short answer: Bra tops are sold in letter sizes rather than cup sizes. Choose by the measurement under the bust, because it is the underband that carries.

The underband carries

In a bra without underwire it is the band under the bust that holds. If it sits loose, the whole top slides up and the straps start to cut in.

Measure in two places

Measure under the bust and across the widest point. Together the two numbers point to the right size in the chart. See how to find your bra size at home.

Between two sizes

Choose the smaller if the band should sit firm, and the larger if the top is for sleeping in. See sleep bra.

For a large bust

Wide straps and a wide band spread the weight better than thin ones. See bra without underwire for a large bust.

See the models

All wire-free models are gathered in bamboo bra without underwire.

After washing

Wash in a laundry bag at 40 degrees and never in a tumble dryer, which destroys the elastic in the band. See how to wash a bra.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use my normal bra size?

No, not directly. Bra tops are sold in letter sizes, so measure against the chart.

How do I know the band fits?

It should sit level all the way round and stay in place when you raise your arms.

Can I sleep in it?

Yes. In that case choose the looser of the two sizes you are unsure about.
