How to Find the Right Size in Bamboo Clothing
One of the most common questions we get is how to find the right size in bamboo clothing. Bamboo viscose behaves slightly differently than cotton and polyester, and if this is your first time switching to bamboo, the sizing may be a little different than what you’re used to. This guide will help you make the right choice from the start.
How Bamboo Compares to Cotton
Bamboo viscose has a unique combination of softness, elasticity, and drape that sets it apart from conventional materials. The fabric drapes beautifully on the body and provides a flattering fit without clinging or feeling tight. This also means that it often fits a little more snugly against the body than cotton, even if the size is the same.
As a general rule, your usual size will fit most bamboo styles. For form-fitting styles, such as women’s bamboo underwear or men’s bamboo underwear, you can easily choose your usual size. Bamboo has natural elasticity, so even if you’re unsure, the material will conform to your body.
For looser-fitting styles, such as women’s bamboo loungewear or men’s bamboo loungewear, you can choose your regular size or go up a size if you prefer a more relaxed fit. This also applies to hoodies, joggers, and sleepwear.
Specific Styles – What to Consider
The sizes of the socks in our entire collection of women’s bamboo socks are based on shoe size, and the fit is relatively consistent across brands. The bamboo fibers stretch easily with your foot, so you have a little flexibility when choosing a size.
Our bamboo bedding is designed to fit standard Danish duvet sizes—we offer both 140x200 and 140x220 cm versions for extra-long duvets. Be sure to check the dimensions of your duvet before placing your order, as it’s important to know if you have an extra-long duvet.
For sleepwear, such as bamboo pajamas for women or bamboo pajamas for men, we recommend your usual size. The fabric is soft and allows for plenty of freedom of movement, so you don't need to go up a size for comfort.
What if it doesn't fit?
If you receive your order and the size doesn't fit, exchanging it is easy. We offer a 100-day return policy, and it costs only 39 kr. to return or exchange an item. We provide size guides on each product page, so be sure to check the measurements when making your selection.
Bamboo clothing shrinks very little if you wash it at 30–40 degrees and air-dry it—so you don’t need to go up a size just to be safe. Choosing the right size, followed by proper care, ensures that the clothes retain their shape wash after wash.
