Laundry that does not come clean and what causes it

Short answer: Four things most often go wrong. The machine is too full, the dose is wrong, the temperature is too low, or the machine itself is dirty.

Too full a machine

The laundry has to be able to move for the water to get through. A three quarters full drum washes better than a completely full one. See washing and care.

The wrong dose

Too little detergent does not remove the grease. Too much is not rinsed out and stays in the fabric. Dose according to water hardness.

Too low a temperature

Detergent residue and biofilm in the machine mean the laundry comes out smelling. Run an empty wash at 90 degrees.
