Lindbergh bamboo socks
Short answer: Socks are the largest Lindbergh group in our shop. The models are everyday socks in bamboo viscose in classic colours, often sold in multipacks, so you can fill the drawer with matching pairs in one go.
Multipacks as the starting point
Socks wear out faster than most other clothing because they are worn every day and rub against shoes and floors. That is why they are usually sold in packs of several identical pairs. It lowers the price per pair, and when every pair is the same, you never search for a match in the morning. See the range at Lindbergh.
Colours for everyday wear
The range sticks to the colours people wear most: black, grey and navy. Black suits workwear and dark trousers, grey suits jeans and weekends, and navy covers most things in between. If you keep to two colours, sorting socks after washing becomes much easier. See them alongside other brands in all bamboo socks for men.
The cuff and comfort
A soft rib cuff keeps the sock up without leaving deep marks on your leg at the end of the day. You notice this most if you sit a lot or tend to have swollen ankles in the evening. A tight elastic feels secure in the morning but often becomes annoying after many hours. More on this in men socks without elastic.
Why bamboo viscose in a sock
Bamboo viscose is a smooth, soft material that absorbs moisture and moves it away from the skin. In a sock, that means your foot feels less clammy after a long day in closed shoes. The fabric is also pleasant against the skin because the fibres are smooth. In return, it needs slightly gentler washing than heavy cotton.
Together with underwear
Lindbergh also makes underpants and undershirts in bamboo viscose, so you can build your whole basic wardrobe from one brand. The benefit is that the pieces share the same material and behave the same way in the wash. You can wash them together on one programme without juggling different care labels. Washing and drying
Wash the socks at 40 degrees without fabric softener and let them air dry. Softener coats the fibres so the fabric absorbs less, and the tumble dryer wears out the rib and elastane in the cuff. Turn the socks inside out before washing so lint rinses out more easily. See the full method in our washing guide.
When to replace your socks
A sock is worn out when the heel has become thin or the cuff no longer holds it up. Both happen gradually, so it is easiest to replace the whole set at once rather than one pair at a time. That way you avoid a drawer of mixed ages. Read more in how to avoid holes in your socks.
How many pairs you need
If you wear one pair a day and wash once a week, you need between seven and ten pairs. With fewer, you wash more often, and each sock is worn and washed more times than necessary. That wears out the heel faster, so a few extra pairs in the drawer can actually extend their life.
The right size
A sock that is too small pulls the heel under your foot and wears through quickly. A sock that is too big bunches up in the shoe and can cause blisters on a long walk. Choose by your shoe size rather than by whatever is already in the drawer. If you are between two sizes, the larger one is often better.
Frequently asked questions
How many pairs are in a pack?
It varies from model to model. The number is listed on each product, so it is worth checking the product page before you decide how many packs you need.
Can the socks be used for sport?
They are designed as everyday socks and have no extra cushioning under the foot. For running or long hikes, a model with a thicker sole is a better choice because it absorbs more impact.
Do bamboo socks shrink in the wash?
If you wash at 40 degrees and let them air dry, they keep their shape. High heat and the tumble dryer are the most common reasons socks shrink or lose stretch in the cuff over time.
