What to look for in a new t-shirt

Short answer: Four things decide whether a t-shirt gets worn: the shoulder width, the length, the neckline and the fabric weight. The first three are about fit, the last about durability.

The shoulder

The shoulder seam should sit on the edge of the shoulder. If it sits further out, the sleeve droops. See the measuring guide.

The length

The top has to cover when you lift your arms. See the top that rides up over the stomach.

The neckline

The ribbed edge is the first thing to go slack. A firm, dense rib lasts longest. See the neckline that goes slack.

The fabric weight

A light quality is cooler, a heavier one lasts longer and covers better. See what fabric weight and GSM mean.

The colour

Neutral colours get worn more often than bold ones. See bamboo t-shirts for men.

For women

See the corresponding models in bamboo t-shirt for women.

Washing

40 degrees inside out and air drying. See the washing guide.

The sleeve length

The sleeve has to end where you want it, and that varies between styles more than the rest. See bamboo long sleeved t-shirt for men.

Frequently asked questions

Hold the fabric up to the light and feel the neckline.

Which colour should I choose?
