White streaks of detergent in the fabric

Short answer: The streaks are undissolved detergent. They appear with cold water, too large a dose, or powder poured straight onto the laundry.

Why the powder does not dissolve

Washing powder needs a certain temperature and enough water to dissolve. On short cold programmes with a full drum it does not manage it, and the remainder settles in the fabric. Dark clothes show it most clearly.

Never pour powder onto the laundry

If the powder goes straight into the drum on top of the clothes, it dissolves unevenly and leaves streaks exactly there. Use the detergent drawer, or put the powder in the drum before the laundry so it sits in the water from the start.
