How to choose bedding size by the duvet

Short answer: Bedding is chosen by the measurements of the duvet, not by the width of the bed. The most used Danish sizes are 140x200 and 140x220 centimetres.

Measure the duvet

Lay the duvet out flat and measure width and length. Those are the two numbers that have to match the cover.

The ordinary sizes

140x200 is the most widespread single size, while 140x220 is used by people who want the duvet further down over their feet. See bamboo bedding 140x200 and 140x220.

If the cover is too big

A cover that is too big makes the duvet bunch up at one end. That is felt as cold spots at night.

Pillowcases

The standard pillow in Denmark is 60x63 centimetres. Check your pillow if you have a different model.

All the sets are gathered in bamboo bedding.

Washing

Bedding is washed at 40 degrees without fabric softener. See how to wash bamboo bedding.

Two sets make everyday life easier

With two sets you can change and wash without waiting for one to dry. If you sleep warm and change more often, a third set makes sense. See bamboo bedding.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose by the bed or the duvet?

By the duvet. The width of the bed says nothing about which cover fits.

What is the most used size?

140x200 centimetres is the most widespread in Denmark.

Can a cover that is too big be used?

It can be used, but the duvet bunches up and that gives cold spots at night.
