WASHING GUIDE

How to best care for your bamboo clothing

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40 degrees.
Wash inside out – especially if there is a print.
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer.
Use detergent without harsh enzymes – e.g. wool/silk soap and preferably fragrance-free.
Underwear can be washed at 60 degrees, but this may shorten its lifespan.

DESCRIPTION

Two black hipsters with a two centimetre waistband

The hipster sits lower than a maxi brief and still gives full coverage at the back. The waistband here is a sewn-on elastic of two centimetres, wide enough to lie flat against the skin instead of digging in. The edge of the leg openings is folded over. Two pairs in the pack from Bamboo Basics, sizes from S to XXL.

80 per cent bamboo viscose

The fabric is 80% bamboo viscose, 13% polyamide and 7% elastane. That is a high proportion of bamboo, and it is what you notice: the brief feels smooth rather than merely soft. The polyamide gives durability, the elastane makes sure the shape comes back after washing. We explain the material in our facts about bamboo.

A high bamboo content needs a gentle wash

The more bamboo viscose, the less heat the fabric tolerates. Wash at 40 degrees with your dark clothes, skip the fabric softener and let them air dry. See our washing and care guide. OEKO-TEX Standard 100, certificate no. SHKO 039388.
