How to best care for your bamboo clothing

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40 degrees.
Wash inside out – especially if there is a print.
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer.
Use detergent without harsh enzymes – e.g. wool/silk soap and preferably fragrance-free.
Underwear can be washed at 60 degrees, but this may shorten its lifespan.

DESCRIPTION

Silky soft describes the surface, not the material

3-pack black men's briefs in silky soft bamboo from Urban Quest. Absorbent and breathable material that makes them perfect for comfortable underwear.

There is no silk in it. The word describes the fact that bamboo viscose has a smooth fibre surface, and smooth fibres reflect light and glide against the skin in the same way silk does. That is the physical reason the fabric feels the way it does.

Briefs rather than boxer shorts

A pair of men's briefs has no legs. That makes them less noticeable under tight trousers, where a pair of boxer shorts can leave a line halfway down the thigh. On the other hand, there's no fabric between the thighs, so on warm days long legs are still better.

The material

70% bamboo viscose, 25% organic cotton and 5% elastane. Bamboo viscose absorbs moisture and releases it into the air. More in facts about bamboo.

Washing

40 degrees or below without fabric softener and not in the tumble dryer, where the elastane in the waistband gives up first. See the washing and care guide.
