WASHING GUIDE

How to best care for your bamboo clothing

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40 degrees.
Wash inside out – especially if there is a print.
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer.
Use detergent without harsh enzymes – e.g. wool/silk soap and preferably fragrance-free.
Underwear can be washed at 60 degrees, but this may shorten its lifespan.

Loose shorts instead of close-fitting underlayer shorts

Loose bamboo shorts in black from JBS of Denmark. The shorts are lovely and soft and have the properties that bamboo has, such as being breathable, temperature regulating and sweat wicking.

These are loose shorts to wear, not underlayer shorts to wear under a dress. The difference is the width: loose shorts hang freely from the hip and are for at-home days and warm evenings, where underlayer shorts fit close to stop chafing between the thighs.

The cut

Loose fit in black. Simple and without print, so they can be worn both indoors and for a trip to the bakery.

The material

65% bamboo viscose, 30% organic cotton and 5% elastane. The bamboo content moves moisture away from the skin, and that is the property that makes a pair of thin shorts usable on a warm day, rather than just light. More in facts about bamboo.

Black is washed cool

Black bamboo viscose turns greyish from hot washing and the tumble dryer. Keep to 40 degrees or below and hang them to dry. No fabric softener. See the washing and care guide.
