How to best care for your bamboo clothing

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40 degrees.
Wash inside out – especially if there is a print.
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer.
Use detergent without harsh enzymes – e.g. wool/silk soap and preferably fragrance-free.
Underwear can be washed at 60 degrees, but this may shorten its lifespan.

White vests from Bamboo Basics in the softest bamboo. They are breathable and moisture wicking and keep you fresh all day, under a shirt or on a warm summer's day.

A tank top under your shirt does two things: it keeps sweat away from the shirt fabric, and it adds a layer so the shirt does not stick to your back. White is chosen because it disappears under light shirts. Two pieces in the pack from Bamboo Basics, men's fit, sizes from S to XXL.

Also on its own in summer

It can be worn on its own on a warm day. The bamboo viscose is sweat wicking, which in practice means the moisture is moved out into the fabric and evaporates instead of sitting against your skin. That is the difference you notice between a bamboo top and a pure cotton top in the middle of the afternoon.

Whites are washed separately

A white vest turns grey beige if it goes through the machine with coloureds. Wash it with the rest of your whites at 40 degrees, without fabric softener. See our washing and care guide.
